I wanted to share my experience this weekend at the AO Series.
Thursday morning I checked the schedule and sure enough, it said my weigh in time was 830am and my session started at 1030. I trained for the past 8 weeks, I paid the $99 registration fee, and I cut weight. I was so excited to have qualified for my first national meet. I had gone to bed early the night before to be ready to go in the morning. Once I got to the venue at 820am I saw my name wasn't on the weigh in list.
The night before, at 8pm, the schedule had been changed. My entire session was moved to two hours earlier. No email was sent, no post was made, nothing to have warned me that this had happened. I had missed everything (cue the water works). My coach and I tried to speak to 3 different people and each one said the same thing. "That's how the sport is, there is nothing we can do, no refunds." Not one person even gave me a sincere apology or sign of remorse. Hungry, thirsty, and just tired of running around looking who we could talk to, all I wanted was at least a refund or even a partial refund. Anything really.

All other emails received were "ads" to either volunteer at PanAm or AO or to donate during their Amazon day. The only part I did not paste on to this post was the part with my receipt for paying $99 for this meet.
Also, I realize that the website states it nice and clear. And yes, I should have checked. But if a message can be sent asking for volunteers, one can be sent saying "final schedule is posted." At least for all those who have never competed before.

Hi, I live in south FL, and I'm just looking for casinos based on a few criteria: how soft they are, what rake is like, the limits, etc. - overall, which is/are the most profitable? Is there even a difference based on these factors? Anyone have experience with various casinos with NLHE in the south Florida area? Any other general advice? This'll be my first time playing live at a casino.
